Does Extremes by area 'lock' achievements?

Does the Extremes by area 'lock' achievements?  e.g. in Australia I currently have a heart for the most favourited cache.  If another cache collects more FPs, do I lose the heart?

Asking because if I go and collect some more 'extreme' caches, will I retain that icon forever?

(I've read the small print but not sure how it applies Includes geocaches superseding the current active record holders)

No achievements in Profile Stats are ever locked, and most if not all can technically be lost in one way or an other.
