Challenge cache : http://coord.info/GC5DFFR

counties in the state of Victoria are now listed on project GC for any cache shown on the map, I believe it is possible for a checker to created for this challenge.

I would like to enter the name of a cacher and then see what counties they have not yet found a cache within all known counties that project-gc is aware of.  I am unsure if project-gx includes all of them but if a report can be outputted then it gives a great indication as to how close the person is from completing this challenge.

I would like to try writting this myself, but if its a quick one to do then happy for someone else to do it.

Hi sedgwickDave,

as the lillfilurens generic checker is marked as no logner suitable for tagging, I configured Target.'s checker script on

http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5DFFR/3746

There is some issue with linking it the correct GC code but I think the checker itself works OK.

cheers

Nice, didn't see that script before!
Even more surprising is  that I missed that script.
I really should write a number of counties/region checker without types to create on with a more appropriate name and output
Thank you for the feedback guys.  I have tagged Target's checker script and added the specific cache types which are valid for this challenge, no virtuals or events.

Its been a few days but this challenge is still not known on project-gc.  I hope once it is it would be possible to link my script to this cache.  When the link occurs does the Tag comment become the name of the Checker?

The script I created is the at the link below.

sedgwickDave, all will get linked once there will be at least one found log ;)
Is it possible to show the found date of the first cache found in each county with the results output for this checker?
Visit date added to all logs
Thank for such a quick response.  You are awesome. :)

Is it also possible to change the output for the Example Log?  Can I config this myself?

I would like it to be in the format of:
----------- See below ---------

I have used [add url for this checker]

GC Code     Date Found    LGA
GCHD3K /   2012-07-19   / Alpine

-----------
The above listing for contain less number of characters for the found log for this challenge.
The checker is really for challenger that require multiple types in each area and had a reasonable output for that. I will not change it.
Some one can write another one or use this code to make another checker
I rembemberd another checker that could be quickly modified and modified it and added a checker
http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5DFFR/5197
The checker has a more reasonable output.

I also find a bug in the old checker. There are some caches in Victoria that PGC have no county info on. I missed this special case when i code the checker and a county with a blank name were included. The bug is now fixed
the FTF:Er Quasar3671 fails the checker but his found note says he have logged all counties. He is likely a bit behind with his online logs.
Thanks for the bug fix and the improved output. Looks great.
I have checked Quasar3671 submitted list of caches and found that 2 caches were within the same area using another method, not PGC.  So the result from this checker is correct.

Thank you so much for creating this checker.  However can you limit the cache types to only the list below.  The challenge is based on finding a physical cache, no virtuals or events.

Cache Types allowed:
Traditional Cache
Multi-cache
Unknown Cache
Cache In Trash Out Event
Letterbox Hybrid
Wherigo Cache

Cheers,
Dave. :)
I hope it meets your requirements now - tags updated. :)

Cheers,
Mikolaj
