I am looking to promote a few users to Expert in this forum. The only difference it actually makes is that it says Expert after the name whenever they write something, just as it says Admin after mine. The goal with the "promotion" is mostly to make those reading the posts realize that it's a person who most likely knows what they are talking about. It's also as a small sign of appreciation from our part.

Since I in all honestly don't read most posts here I am looking for suggestions. Can we manage to list the most helpful users? Those (almost) always writing correct answers? Feel free to drop everything from one name to a handful of them.

If I made the list myself I would take names I recognize from https://project-gc.com/qa/?qa=users , which might not be all out fair.

Feel free to answer with "answers", I believe those most active will find this question even though it looks answered.

UPDATE:

Since mole125 lifted a more advanced approach by looking at the number of selected as best answer I just "had to" dig into the database. The numbers I got doesn't match the numbers on the web exactly, but it seems to be close enough. There is something I don't understand with the database scheme.

Anyway, here are a top list of those with at least 10 answers selected as best.

           ganja1447   269/770 (35%)
             Target.   141/450 (31%)
         pinkunicorn   103/428 (24%)
              Jakuje    70/243 (29%)
           vogelbird    44/256 (17%)
            sumbloke    31/144 (22%)
             jpavlik    24/ 99 (24%)
             mole125    21/102 (21%)
        the Seagnoid    16/109 (15%)
           NoobNader    14/ 79 (18%)
             Pepegeo    11/ 51 (22%)

closed with the note: 8 new "experts" has been added.

We have found Mole125 and Optimist on the run to be very helpful!

I have seen a lot of useful information and questions and answers from Target, pinkunicorn and vogelbird.

That being said, thanks to everyone who helps, even if just a little. I try to help out as well, little by little, as I learn more features of the site.

To be honest that link looks a pretty good way to get a list of candidates. Probably even better would be if you can sort everybody based on how many questions they have answered (rather than asked) and/or how many have been selected as the best answer - though from a quick eyeball I'm not sure you'll get that much difference in results. Certainly vogelbird, sumbloke, the Seagnoid  and jpavlik would be on my candidate list - and probably others later in the list so apologies if I haven't included anyone!

It seems quite hard to get more than 20% selected as "best answer". I guess I shouldn't be surprised though. Most users probably don't recognize the concept from Stackoverflow and such.
Updated my post with a "top list" based on number of selected answers.
:) Glad I could help. The problem with 'best answer' is at what time should you select it, if you do it with the first answer that looks 'good enough' then you may be premature and have a better/more correct answer come along. If you wait then there is a good chance to forget. Of course some questions are more conversation that q/a so best answer doesn't really apply so in some ways I'm surprised it is as high as 20%

Most of the best answers seem to come from Jakuje & sumbloke
